Community Volunteerism
Report your volunteer hours to RSVP—Our organization no longer reports volunteer hours to RSVP. Please send your hours at the beginning of each month for the previous month to Sarah Dawson at RSVP. Her phone number is 573-874-1111 and her fax number is 573-874-1821. You need to report where you did your volunteer work and how many hours you volunteered each place that month. Reporting volunteer hours is very important, because the number of hours reported could change decisions about grants that are sought. Our community benefits from that grant money. If you are not a member of RSVP, please consider joining, because if you are injured on one of your volunteer jobs, RSVP has insurance that can benefit you. When you join RSVP, no cost to you is involved. Here is their Web site.
MRTA members donate over $6 million in volunteer hours—The Missouri Retired Teachers Association and Public School Personnel (MRTA) presented a check representing $6,643,977.60 in volunteer community service hours donated in 2010 to Missouri's citizens at its annual Spring Leadership Conference in Jefferson City on March 15, 2011.
